Dear customers, here you will find all the information about the upcoming excise tax for 2024, including other regulations that are coming to vaping from the lips of our MPs :-)
Excise duty for vaping in 2024
So what do we know? The government's original proposal of 10 czk / 1 ml for nicotine and non-nicotine (bases and flavours included) refills has already been reduced to the level see points below by the already approved counter proposal. At the same time, unfortunately, we have already confirmed the validity of the tax also on nicotine-free products, i.e. on nicotine-free base, nicotine-free liquid and unfortunately also on flavours for self-mixing
a 4-year gradual increase in taxation is being introduced
e-cigarettes in 4 years: 2.5 + 5.0 + 7.5 + 10 CZK/1 ml refill (instead of the increase to 10 CZK/1 ml refill in the original proposal)
Important terms:
The Excise Act itself comes into force on 01.01.2024, but the important dates for you as a customer are below
The deadline for the last day to sell existing stocks is 30.09.2024, until this date we as sellers can sell the products concerned without a surcharge (excise duty) - unfortunately we will not be able to guarantee the availability of individual products in the last months of the sale, the reason for this can be found in the point below
Why can't we guarantee the availability of all affected products? We can only stock (buy) products not subject to excise duty until 31.03.2024, from then on we can only buy and sell products with excise duty paid, so from 31.03.2024 we will no longer be able to guarantee the availability of your favourite products at the price you are used to
We regret this situation, the expected excise duty collection from e-cigarette refills has been reduced by the government MPs from the original proposal of CZK 800 million for the state budget to CZK 100 million, so the MPs themselves must be aware of the defectiveness of the proposal, but unfortunately it has been approved and you can reflect on it at the elections :-)
