In many cases you wouldn't know DIY atomizers from factory heads. The main difference between them, however, is the motor base associated directly with the atomizer, which is designed to insert its own spiral or multiple spirals (depending on the base of the particular atomizer). The abbreviation DIY comes from the English phrase Do It Yourself, or do-it-yourself, but sometimes you will also see the term rebuildable.
The base is equipped with holes for the spiral legs to be pushed through, which can be placed in the side walls/poles (post base), columns (Velocity) or also in the base (postless base). Screws are used to secure the spiral, tightening them at the same time to ensure a closed perimeter. As with the factory heads, the e-liquid is fed to the spiral by cotton wool, which must be pushed through the spiral (or wrapped around) and seated appropriately in the feed channels.
