UWELL Caliburn G3 POD

The Caliburn G is rightly one of the most popular POD devices. It offered great features, compactness and above all reliable operation with excellent flavour delivery. This is no different with the latest G3 model. Moreover, the manufacturer has focused on parameters that deserve to be improved. Power, battery capacity and cartridge volume have been increased. The cartridge system has also been completely redesigned.

Dimensions and weight have increased slightly between generations. With dimensions of 120 x 24 x 14mm and a weight of 47g, the device is still nicely compact, lightweight and fits perfectly in the hand. In terms of appearance, the manufacturer sticks to its typical design language. The body thus consists of an inner plastic construction and an outer aluminium shell, which is smooth and free of any indentations compared to its predecessor. The cut-outs for looking into the cartridge without having to pull it out have been retained, as has the position of the button in the middle of the body. The OLED display is a new feature. The USB-C port is located, as with its predecessor, on the bottom of the device.

The device now has up to 25W of power. This can also be regulated. The value of the selected power can be monitored on the display, which also informs about the battery status, the length of the coating and the number of them, the resistance of the inserted cartridge and the selected draw activation mode. The device has automatic draw. However, a purely push-button control can also be set. The G3 also offers haptic response (vibration) indication.

The cartridge is completely redesigned. The coil is now fully integrated into the cartridge, and like the other Uwell models, it does not lack the Pro-FOCS mesh technology. This stands out above all for its flavour delivery. You have a choice of 0.6 and 0.9 ohm variants, so users who use both MTL and RDL will be in for a treat. As with its predecessor, the stiffness of the draw can be adjusted in two settings. Just pull the cartridge out and push it in the opposite direction.

The battery capacity has been increased to 900mAh. The battery life should thus be quite safe for 1-2 days of operation. If necessary, it can be recharged with a fast 2A charge.
